Mountainbiking

Invigorating: Activity & Nature

Vorarlberg is woven with some 1,500km of uniformly marked mountain bike trails. Safety, nature conservation and attractiveness were the prime concerns in route design. On each trail, mountain bikers can get a sense of the landscape and of the way people live in Vorarlberg.

Starting in the towns and villages, the mountain bike trails take cyclists across gently undulating landscapes, heading to high-lying alps and lofty summits. Numerous wayside inns and lodges beckon visitors to stop for a bite and a rest. There are trails suitable for beginners, for advanced-level and proficient mountain bikers.

Mountainbiking / Mountain Bike Tours

  • Guided mountain bike tours are run regularly in the Brandnertal, in Alpenstadt Bludenz and in the Klostertal. Participation is free for Brandnertal Card holders. The 3-mountain tour via Loischkopf, Niggenkopf and Palüdberg requires stamina and physical fitness. Guided Mountain Bike Tours in Alpenregion Bludenz
  • In the Bregenzerwald, the Bregenzerwald bike school offers 12 different full-day and half-day tours a week, riding technique courses, bike camps, racing bike tours, e-bike tours and cycling programmes for adults and children. Enrolment is open to individuals and groups. Bike School – “Die Bikeschule”
  • Guided full-day, half-day or short tours are run daily in the Montafon from mid-May to late October, up to 14 times per week. The tours include outings to alpine lodges, high-lying alps farmed in summer (called “maisaess”), the Silvretta bike safari, and panorama tours. Two easy-going tours for families as well as two technical training tours (1 to 3 hours long) are organised every week.
